The Promise on the Verge of Collapse

 To bridge the widening gap between pro-Israel Evangelicals and the America First nationalist base, Donald Trump must strategically reframe his foreign policy as a moral and pragmatic safeguard for American interests, not endless entanglement abroad. 

He should launch a “Peace Through Prosperity” Middle East Policy 2.0—reviving the spirit of the Abraham Accords through trade, regional investment, and humanitarian development zones in conflict areas like Gaza, offering an alternative to occupation or perpetual war. 

Trump can reclaim the mantle of peacemaker by pointing out that under his leadership, no new wars began and peace was progressing—until the Biden administration allowed that stability to collapse, while Netanyahu praised Biden and quietly undermined Trump’s diplomatic gains. 

To maintain credibility with Evangelicals while avoiding neocon entrapment, Trump can encourage respected American Jewish voices to openly oppose reckless military escalation, providing moral cover and balance. At the same time, he should call for annual sunset clauses on all foreign aid—including to Israel—and push for full transparency in lobbying and defense contracting, framing it as a crusade against unelected globalist interests. 

By empowering surrogates like Tucker Carlson, JD Vance, and Vivek Ramaswamy to voice sharp critiques of Israel’s war strategy and U.S. entanglements, Trump can stay above the fray while signaling that the MAGA movement tolerates internal debate and refuses to be hijacked by foreign interests. 

This approach offers a unifying posture: strong on national sovereignty, protective of moral values, and focused on American strength without sacrificing independence to anyone—not even longtime allies.
