Image & Video of suspect in New Orleans terror attack

Authorities have identified Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. citizen from Texas, as the suspect in the New Orleans terror attack. Jabbar drove a rented pickup truck into a crowded Bourbon Street during New Year's celebrations, causing the deaths of at least 15 people and injuring many others. After crashing, he exited the vehicle and exchanged gunfire with police before being fatally shot.

Jabbar was an Army veteran who served for nearly a decade and later in the reserves. Though honorably discharged, he had a minor history of legal issues. Investigators discovered an ISIS flag and potential explosives in his truck, suggesting possible ties to extremist groups. The FBI is now investigating his background and looking into whether he had any accomplices.

President Joe Biden condemned the attack, expressing condolences to the families affected and emphasizing the importance of remaining vigilant against domestic terrorism. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combating extremist threats.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward. In response to the attack, security has been increased in New Orleans and other major cities to prevent further incidents.
