Peruvian Police Officer Dressed as Grinch Smashes Door with Sledgehammer in Christmas Drug Bust
Peruvian Police Dress as the Grinch to Surprise Suspects in Festive Drug Bust
In a creative twist, Peruvian National Police conducted a dramatic drug raid in Lima's San Bartolo district, using a clever disguise to catch suspects off guard. One officer, dressed as the Grinch in a Santa suit, approached the target without raising suspicion. Armed with a sledgehammer, he smashed open the door, paving the way for police to storm the residence and apprehend the suspects.
The raid led to the arrest of three individuals known by their aliases: La Reina del Sur, La Coneja, and Pote. Authorities allege the trio are members of the "La Mafia de San Bartolo" gang, a group heavily involved in drug trafficking. During the search, officers seized significant quantities of cocaine hydrochloride and cocaine paste, along with equipment like scales and strainers used for drug preparation.
This operation is part of a series of unconventional methods employed by the Peruvian police during festive seasons. Officers have previously disguised themselves as popular characters, including superheroes and horror icons, to ensure surprise and success. Notably, in a Halloween 2023 operation, officers dressed as Freddy Krueger and other horror figures conducted a similar drug bust.
These innovative tactics have proven effective, allowing law enforcement to approach suspects unnoticed and execute their raids with the element of surprise.
