Rabbi: “it’s Finally Time To Tell you EVERYTHING I Know…”

We need to truly understand what death is. Throughout history, how often have we paused to ask: *What is death?* What does it truly mean? Let’s break it down.

What exactly dies? Is there something that exists as "alive" for a time and then suddenly ceases to exist? In nature, there is no such thing as life simply "going out." 

A living person is a harmonious combination of body and soul. The body comes alive through the energy of the soul, a life force that is inherently alive. The soul is not dependent on external energy—it is self-sustaining, a living entity in itself. So alive, in fact, that when it unites with the body, even the lifeless physical form becomes animated. 

The body, on its own, is never truly alive. It is made of earth and eventually returns to the earth—dust to dust. For 120 years, if we’re optimistic, the body and soul coexist. When their union ends, the soul returns to being what it always was: a living, eternal entity. It continues, because life itself cannot die. Life, by its nature, cannot extinguish—just as you cannot have "dry water" or "cold fire." 

The soul moves on, passing from one state to another, but never ceasing to exist. The body, no longer animated by the soul, simply reverts to its original form. It was never alive independently; it borrowed life from the soul for a time. 

Death, then, is not an end but a separation. The soul remains vibrant and alive, while the body returns to the earth from which it came. Life is eternal—only the form it takes changes.
