 Astronomers have confirmed that interstellar object 3I/ATLAS—only the third known visitor to enter our solar system from beyond—has violently disintegrated as it reached perihelion, the closest point to the Sun in its orbit.  On October 29th, 2025, interstellar visitor 3I/ATLAS did something that left astronomers speechless.
