Sun's Magnetic Field is About to Flip, and There's a Problem

The Sun's magnetic field is about to reverse as it reaches its peak activity in its 11-year solar cycle. 

The magnetic field reversal comes at a time of the Artemis mission, humanity's return to the Moon after more than half a century.

So, what will the upcoming solar maximum do to our planet in the coming months? What are the anomalies in this solar cycle that NASA is concerned about? Finally, and most importantly, will the upcoming phase of the Sun's activity risk the life of the astronauts of the Artemis mission on the Moon?

S T. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Endangered small tooth sawfish, marine creatures virtually unchanged for millions of years, are exhibiting erratic spinning behavior and dying in unusual numbers in Florida waters. Federal and state wildlife agencies are beginning an  effort to rescue and rehabilitate  sawfish to find out why. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced what it calls an “emergency response” focused on the Florida Keys starting next week. A NOAA news release called the effort unprecedented. “If the opportunity presents itself, this would be the first attempt ever to rescue and rehabilitate small tooth sawfish from the wild,” said Adam Brame, NOAA Fisheries’ sawfish recovery coordinator. Sawfish,  related to rays, skates and sharks, are named for their elongated, flat snout that contains a row of teeth on each side.
