Israel blocks October 7th investigation!

UN investigators claim that Israel is actively hindering their efforts, despite initial blame being placed on Hamas. This shouldn't come as a surprise, given the circumstances surrounding the events of October 7th. There has been considerable evidence implicating Israel's involvement, including the use of military tactics such as the Hannibal Directive, which prioritizes preventing hostage situations over saving lives. With tanks and helicopter gunships reportedly targeting civilians during the Nova Music Festival, the need for a thorough investigation is evident.

However, Israel is refusing to cooperate with the UN's inquiry, raising suspicions of potential concealment. Despite six months passing since the incident, the investigation has yet to commence. The longer this delay persists, the greater the likelihood of crucial evidence being obscured. Reuters reported the UN commission's accusation of Israel obstructing evidence collection from victims of the attack, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

Ukrainian MP wants children punished for speaking Russian

An MP in Ukraine has proposed a new law preventing schoolchildren from speaking to each other in any language but Ukrainian, even outside of the classroom. Natalya Pipa claims that the mandatory use of the official language in class is not sufficient to ensure its dominance. A large proportion of Ukrainian citizens can speak or understand both Russian and Ukrainian, particularly in the east of the country. However, since the 2014 coup, the new authorities have abolished Russian as an official regional language, and adopted policies aimed at its suppression. According to the government in Kiev, the language constitutes a threat to national unity and security. Russia has repeatedly denounced these steps as discrimination.
