ABC News Liberally Censors RFK Jr.
Interview Over Vaccine Comments
According to recent polls, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who entered the presidential race at the age of 69 last week, has quickly gained 19% support among Democrats. However, Kennedy's anti-vaccination stance and controversial views on the COVID-19 vaccine have drawn criticism. In his 2021 book, he accused Anthony Fauci, the COVID czar, of orchestrating "a historic coup d’état against Western democracy."
In a recent interview with ABC News Live, Kennedy's false claims about COVID-19 vaccines prompted the network to censor extended portions of the exchange. ABC News anchor Linsey Davis acknowledged the inaccuracy of Kennedy's statements and cited research indicating that the vaccine has prevented millions of hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19. Additionally, she noted that multiple studies involving over a million children have debunked the purported link between vaccines and autism, which Kennedy had also referenced.
Despite ABC News' decision to censor parts of the interview, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was still given the opportunity to explain his reasons for running for president. He cited the rise of corporatism in the US and the addiction to war as his motivations, as well as his concerns about the Democratic Party becoming the party of war, censorship, fear, and neocons and Wall Street.
As an experienced environmental lawyer, Kennedy expressed confidence in his ability to fix regulatory agencies, stating that he knows more about how to do so than any other politician in the country. He criticized the leadership of agencies such as the CIA, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Transportation, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Food and Drug Administration, accusing them of being captured by corrupt leaders who prioritize industry interests.
ABC News anchor Linsey Davis accused Kennedy of casting aspersions on these agencies, but it appears that Kennedy remains steadfast in his views on regulatory reform and the need for change in American politics.
It is worth noting that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. comes from a prominent political family. He is the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1963, and the son of US Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated while campaigning for the Democratic nomination in 1968.
RFK Jr. has also been vocal about his doubts regarding the official narrative of his father's assassination. He does not believe that Sirhan Sirhan, the man convicted of killing his father, was responsible for the crime and has urged California's governor to release him. This stance has garnered both support and criticism, with some praising RFK Jr.'s commitment to justice and others accusing him of promoting conspiracy theories.
