The word 'the' is canceled apparently. The Associated Press has suggested avoiding 'the' labels because it's dehumanizing. This is a logical extreme of the liberal idea that we are all fundamentally individuals, not members of a group.

UNRWA Confirms Over 300 Staff Killed Amid Israeli Strikes in Gaza, Escalating Humanitarian Crisis

This figure marks the highest staff death toll in UN history and highlights the intensity of the conflict.
